Macoscope joins the Sponsors League!

We're really exited to annouce the last sponsor of HACKWAW 2: Macoscope. Macoscope is the biggest and most active iOS and OS X software houses in Poland. They also develop their own apps and if you have any Apple device, you probably familiar with Code Pilot or Circuloid. Macoscope was born of a dream three hackers once had; a dream of creating a great workplace, setting bold challenges and working creatively on rewarding projects, which ultimately bring real value into people’s lives. Founded by Daniel, Wojtek and Zbigniew, Macoscope is the place where you can employ skills, along with carefully chosen tools, at software development to make your dream come true.

The good thing is: they're looking for the fresh blood to join their company! If you're a Objective-C developer, go and look at their announcement here

Let's say BIG and loud THANK YOU

HACKWAW is in 5 days!

That means you should start some serious preparations. Of course, we'll help you with that!
We have literally 5 tickets left and the registration will close tomorrow, so if you didn't get your ticket yet, this is THE LAST CALL.

If you're all geared up and ready for the battle, let's go to the details:

1. Submit your hack or choose a team

Some people already did that, but if you're not one of them, it's final time. Go to our hackathon platform and tell us what are you going to do. That help you and your fellow hackers to team up before the event and be a little bit ahead of the rest during the hackathon! If you don't have idea, it's a good place to look for a team to join!

2. Know your goal and work backwards

Think what are you going to build and how much time do you need. You have only nineteen hours for coding, so define you goal, think about the final demo and build your produt backwards. There is no ppt, key or other pptx on the demo, so everything you're going to show at the end has to work!

3. Don't forget about stuff to bring

  • laptop and charger (or desktop if you're that hardcore)
  • projector adapter if needed (bring also spares!)
  • headphones
  • power extension lead (people will LOVE you)
  • everything you can need: some spare papers, markers won't hurt

4. Before: get some sleep

It's gonna be long and hard, be prepared for that.

5. Strech your fingers and keep smiling! :)

If you need more, there is a great hackathon survival guide: 9 things to make the most of a hack event.

Nettigo.pl - online electronic store for makers by makers

Are you ready to CODE?

For those who have dared to forget, we're remaining: HACKWAW is TOMORROW! Hope you're excited as well as we are. We want to help you prepare, that's why we created the list of things to do before you come to BLAIP tomorrow.

1. If you have an idea what to do during this weekend, prepare your 60 seconds pitch in polish. Forget about business model, target group or other boring stuff. Simply say what you want to create and who you need to accomplish your MVP during weekends. Keep this stupidly simple. Make sure your grandma understand your pitch.
2. Take a rest: next 24 hours will be extremely busy, so it's really important to stay focus, stay up, survive :)
3. Remember to pack everything: your laptop and charger are the most important part, but if you're going to get some sleep during HACKWAW, it's good to get also a sleeping bag.
4. It's good to setup your server. You don't want to waste a valuable time during HACKWAW for stuff like this.
5. Don't forget your ticket! :) It will really speed up registration process :)
6. Get a proper attitude and bring smile to the event. We're waiting for you from 9:45 am on Saturday! :)

See you tomorrow hackers!

Meet our only one Yoda Master - BLACK LION :)

It's super nice to announce our sweetest sponsor, the Yoda Master of HackWAW: Black Lion! We're enormously grateful for everything what this amazing company do for HACKWAW community.

Black Lion is a big investment fund. In the past they helped to create Soho Factory on Warsaw praga disctrict, delicious Gostyniec brewery or even Male Man magazine. Recently, they also created a fund which invest in early stage companies, so during or after HACKWAW you can talk to Piotr Dębek, who will explain you how this world works. Who knows, maybe in two years you’ll sell your company for $1 000 000 000? Because you know what’s cool. 1 BILLION dollars is cool ;)

We're extremely happy to have them on board. We also believe you're happy about this as well. Let's say BIG and loud THANK YOU. Without Black Lion, all this will NEVER happen.
